HP has developed a new script which simplifies the process of installation of multiple patches.
This script can be used at the customer site to install multiple patches thereby saving the
overhead of waiting for the engineering to provide them with the patch bundle.
Currently, users can install only one patch in a single run of dupatch. So, if a user has
to install 'n' patches, then dupatch needs to be run 'n' times and requires machine reboot
several times. In case of a cluster, when the number of patches to be installed in a no-roll
method is more, then, even no-roll method will approach the complexity and time of a rolling
upgrade, and the advantage of a no-roll is lost.

| RESOLUTION HP is releasing the below ERP kit publicly for use by any customer.
This ERP kit delivers a new script, using which the existing “dupatch” script will be able
to install multiple CSPs/ERPs in a single operation without multiple reboots on both
stand-alone and cluster systems. The script will be delivered along with the patch installation
tools as an ERP for both HP Tru64 UNIX 5.1B-4 and 5.1B-5. The instructions regarding the
usage of this script, "mul_patch_setup" are available at the location of the downloadable file
Please note that this script will not be made available in any base level patch kit.
