The IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) client that runs on HP Tru64 UNIX v 5.1B-4 does not work properly. Problems include the following:

• The TSM client performs full backups rather than incremental backups.
• The TSM client skips files, giving errors indicating the files were changed during the backup process. In fact, those files were not touched.

The following version is affected:

HP Tru64 UNIX v 5.1B-4 (BL27)

HP is releasing the following ERP kit publicly for use by any customer. The ERP kit uses dupatch to install and will not install over any Customer Specific Patches (CSPs) that have file intersections with the ERP. Contact your service provider for assistance if the installation of an ERP is blocked by any of your installed CSPs.

Some customers installed the v 5.1B-3 (PK5/BL26) version of libpacl.so as a workaround. Before installing this ERP, these customers should move the v 5.1B-4 libpacl.so back to /usr/shlib/libpacl.so so that the ERP installs correctly. Customers who did not keep a copy of the v 5.1B-4 version of libpacl.so can use the "Patch Baseline Analysis/Adjustment" dupatch option to allow ERP installation.

NOTE:
The first incremental backup performed after patch installation may not function normally. It may be a full backup, it may back up some additional files that did not change, or it may work as expected. After the first backup, incremental backups should work normally.

The fixes contained in this ERP kit is targeted for availability in the next mainstream patch kit:

The kit distributes the following files:

• /usr/shlib/libpacl.so
• /usr/ccs/lib/libpacl.a
