From Tru64 UNIX® to HP-UX 11i

Transition tools

HP has the resources and tools needed to ensure a smooth transition. We are committed to making it a successful experience for you, your developers, system administrators, and everyone involved in the transition. To that effect, HP is offering a variety of tools to help you transition from Tru64 UNIX to HP-UX 11i on Integrity servers.

Note: Some of the following tools and other tools may also be packaged in the transition modules.

System management
»	Tru64 UNIX Remote Printer Queue Migration Tool: A shell script that provides automatic configuration on HP-UX 11i v2 of remote printers previously installed and configured on Tru64 UNIX systems.
»	Tru64 UNIX to HP-UX 11i Printing Migration: A white paper that addresses the migration issues and options for the Tru64 UNIX V5.1B printing subsystems.
»	HP-UX 11i/Tru64 UNIX System Administration Interoperability user guide (pdf) A user guide that describes in detail the differences in tasks performed daily by system administrators on the Tru64 UNIX and HP-UX 11i operating systems.
»	Interoperability Translator Quick Reference tool A side-by-side comparison of system administration commands on the Tru64 UNIX and HP-UX 11i operating systems.
Data Transfer
»	HP Database Migration Planning Assistant (DBMPA). The DBMPA helps you plan your database migration effort by estimating how long a database will be offline while transitioning to a new system.
»	HP Database Migration Script Set (DBMSS). The DBMSS is provided for Tru64 UNIX customers who are planning to transition Oracle databases to HP-UX 11i. It contains a set of scripts to help automate the database migration process.

Application porting
»	Application Transition tools A series of software tools and documents to help you port your home-grown code from Tru64 UNIX to HP-UX 11i on Integrity servers.
»	Software Transition Kits Contain tools and documentation to help you transition your source code from one of the following platforms — HP-UX 11i, Linux, Tru64 UNIX, or Solaris — to the latest version of the HP-UX 11i operating system on Integrity servers.
