ATI RADEON 7500 graphics support

The ATI RADEON 7500 AGP and PCI graphics cards are based on the RV200 graphics chip from ATI Technologies Inc. The RADEON 7500 provides both 2D and 3D rendering. Additional features include the ability to control two screens with one card and more than two screens with additional cards.

Tru64 UNIX V5.1B provides minimal support for the RADEON 7500 — enough to allow for graphical system installations. Full support for the RADEON 7500 is provided via the ATI RADEON 7500 Graphics Support layered product kit. After installing Tru64 UNIX V5.1B, you should install the ATI RADEON 7500 Graphics Support kit for full support and the latest patches. Patches for the RADEON 7500 software are only distributed via the graphics support kit — they are not included in the Tru64 UNIX V5.1B patch kits.

Licensing

The ATI RADEON 7500 graphics support software requires an OPEN3D Product Authorization Key (PAK) to enable OpenGL (3D) features in the X server.

OpenGL

The ATI RADEON 7500 graphics support software includes support for the OpenGL V1.2 and GLX V1.2 standards.

Multihead

Multiple ATI RADEON 7500 graphics cards may be used in the same system. The number of RADEON 7500 cards that are supported varies by system. See the system's QuickSpecs for details.
