 Preinstallation requirements

If an Atom Advanced Development Kit (ATMBASE400 or ATMBASE500 subset) is installed, you must delete it before installing Program Analysis Tools V2.10 software. For example:

   # /usr/sbin/setld -i | grep ATMBASE

   # /usr/sbin/setld -d subset-name

Program Analysis Tools V2.10 can be installed on Tru64 UNIX V4.0F, V4.0G, V5.0A, V5.1, V5.1A and V5.1B systems.

 Installation instructions

To download and install the kit:

  1. Log in as root or change to the root account on the system where the component is to be installed.

  2. Back up your system disk before installing any software (refer to your system documentation).

  3. Create a scratch directory to receive the downloaded kit tar file, and change to that directory.

  4. Download the kit tar file to your scratch directory.

  5. Unpack the compressed tar file:

    # gunzip -dc DTA210.tar.gz | tar xvf -

This creates a directory named Program_Analysis_Tools with a kit subdirectory containing the subsets to install and a doc subdirectory containing documentation.

  6. If you have a previously installed version of the Developers' Toolkit Supplement, deinstall the Program Analysis Tools subsets:
    # /usr/sbin/setld -i | grep DTA | grep installed

    # /usr/sbin/setld -d currently-installed-subset

  7. Install the kit:
    # /usr/sbin/setld -l Program_Analysis_Tools/kit

If you have a previously installed version of the Developers' Toolkit Supplement, the installation process will ask you to deinstall the Program Analysis Tools subsets. In that case you can check for the presence of any currently installed subsets and delete them as follows:
    # /usr/sbin/setld -i | grep DTA | grep installed

    # /usr/sbin/setld -d currently-installed-subset

  8. When finished installing, you can delete the scratch directory.
