Overview

To transition your source code and scripts, you may need to resolve migration issues such as data model and API changes. The following tools help you resolve these issues:

  • binaryScan utility

Scans any dynamically linked executables and produces a compatibility report for application programming interfaces (APIs) or application binary interfaces (ABIs) from a source operating system to a destination operating system.

  • Software Transition Kit (STK) file scanning technology

The STK includes file scanning technology that helps developers migrate their custom source code from various operating systems to HP-UX by scanning source code to identify porting issues and providing recommendations on how to solve them.

  • Migration Environment (ME)

The ME provides commands and utilities to facilitate the porting and running of Tru64 UNIX applications on HP-UX 11i. For more detailed information, refer to the ME features on the Tru64 UNIX to HP-UX 11i application transition topic.
