The Tru64TM UNIX® (formerly DIGITAL UNIX) operating system conforms to the IEEE Std 1003.1-1990, Portable Operating System Interface (POSIX) Part 1: System Application Program Interface (API) as amended by IEEE Std 1003.1b-1993, Amendment 1: Realtime Extension (C Language) and IEEE Std 1003.1c-1995, Amendment 2: Threads (C Language).
In addition, the Tru64 UNIX Version 5.0 operating system meets the requirements of the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 151-2.
The POSIX.1 Conformance Document is written for people who are evaluating operating systems for POSIX.1 conformance and for those who want to learn how the Tru64 UNIX Version 5.0 operating system implements various POSIX.1 features. The reader should be familiar with IEEE Std 1003.1-1990 or ISO/IEC 9945-1: 1990.
This document consists of chapters with sections that briefly explain how the operating system conforms to the implementation-defined features described in POSIX.1.
The organization of the chapters and sections follows that of the IEEE Std 1003.1-1990 Portable Operating System Interface (POSIX) Part 1: System Application Program Interface (API) as amended by IEEE Std 1003.1b-1993, Amendment 1: Realtime Extension (C Language) and IEEE Std 1003.1c-1995, Amendment 2: Threads (C Language).
