We provide patch kits for each supported version of the HP Tru64 UNIX operating system and TruCluster Server software. This page provides the Patch Kit Installation Instructions, the Patch Summary and Release Notes for recently released patch kits, and other patch-related documentation.

Technical Updates for Tru64 UNIX Patch Kits

These updates contain information pertaining to changes made to Tru64 UNIX systems as a result of installing patch kits. The following updates are available:

Updated February 2006

Patch Kit Installation
The Patch Kit Installation Instructions manual (HTML / PDF) ships with all patch kit versions. Although the basic installation information applies to earlier kits, some features described in this manual may not exist in earlier kits.
Updated December 2006

The Installation Instructions for Pre-Inclusive Patch Kits manual (HTML / PDF) provides instructions for installing, removing, and working with patch kits that pre-date the introduction of the Inclusive Patch Kits that first shipped with Version 5.1B-2/Patch Kit 4. Although the instructions are similar to the current manual, this manual provides examples that reflect what you will see when working with these earlier kits.


Patch Kit Map
The patch kit map lists the kit number, base level, and release date of patch kits produced during the last few years. It also lists upcoming patch kits that are in the planning or production stage.


Patch-Specific Reference Pages
The dupatch(8) reference page (HTML / PDF) provides information about installing patch kits from a command line.
The dupclone(8) reference page (HTML / PDF) provides information about using the dupclone tool to clone a TruCluster Server cluster.
These reference pages are installed on a system when the dupatch tools are installed.


Patching Best Practice
The Patching Tru64 UNIX Best Practice manual describes the issues to consider before beginning to install a Tru64 UNIX Release Patch Kit on your system, and the steps to take to prepare your system for the installation process.


Patch Kit Overview
The Patch Kit Overview and Naming manual provides a brief overview of the Tru64 UNIX patching process and describes the naming conventions for Release, Customer-Specific (CSP), and Early-Release (ERP) patch kits.
